covid-19: Third wave could take extreme shape in October, children will not be spared, says central agency report
Newdelhi: The third wave of Kovid could reach its peak in October. This time there is a risk of spreading the infection among adults as well as children. This was stated by a committee of experts formed under the supervision of the National Disaster Management Authority following the instructions of the Union Home Ministry. According to the report, the third wave of Kovid has already hit the country. Since the last week of July, ‘R Value’ has risen above 1 in the country. By the way, how many people are being infected from one infected person is indicated by this ‘R Value’.
Learning from the ‘mistakes’ of the second wave of Covid, it has been suggested to be more vigilant in dealing with the impending wave. The report, submitted to the Union Home Ministry, said the country did not have the required number of doctors, health workers, medical equipment and infrastructure to treat a large number of children infected during the third wave. The committee of experts suggested paying special attention to this issue.
National Institute of Disaster Management (NIDM), under the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), has warned of a third #COVID19 wave peak in October in its recent report to Prime Minister's Office (PMO).
